Y4 Teaching multiplication: the essential knowledge for the mandatory check 2020

Audience: Year 4 teachers, Year 4 teaching assistants Cost: £75
Schools will be able to use their results from the voluntary check 2019 to provide additional support to pupils ahead of the 2020 mandatory rollout of the MTC.
The on-screen test will be sat by eight- and nine-year-olds in Year 4 and is designed to make sure primary school children know their times tables up to 12 by heart.
Pupils who know their tables and can recall facts rapidly will perform better when meeting the demands and expectations of the curriculum in Y5 and Y6.
Course Outline
This course will offer teachers in Y4 the opportunity;
- to review their teaching of tables knowledge, so that these facts are embedded in the long-term memory
- to use teaching models and tasks for learning tables knowledge

- Increased confidence in preparing their pupils for the mandatory MTC.

A charge of 100% will be incurred if a delegate place is cancelled within 7 working days of the course date. The full course fee will be charged for any delegate/s who do not arrive for a course for which a place has been booked and not cancelled. All delegates will be required to sign the course register on arrival.
Whilst we will make every effort, we cannot guarantee to accommodate delegates on a course for which they have not booked a place. In the event that a course has to be cancelled, we will endeavour to give a minimum of 7 working days’ notice of cancellation. Please note:
